At the end of the day they are a wear item. I put a drop of 3 in 1 oil on the spherical on the top hats from time to time and soak up excess/wipe away debris after turning the wheel lock to lock. Seems to do the trick. As for suspension arms I probably wont do anything and just replace the bearings if/when they become noisy or worn. But they are PTFE lined. I dont think the tophats are...

I spent so much time scrutinizing the side of the pump for potential fakes but never focused on the bottom pattern...sigh. If anyone here can recognize if this is fake, please let me know.

Interested in results.

whats yours look like then. Also snap the sides and top of that Chinese one. What I find most odd is that these were on a historically bad backorder since covid started. Then I look at the significant price drop, and then the fact that Turn14 still doesn't have them in stock because Walbro doesn't have them. Yet Walbro's "authorized site" claims to have them. #Conspiracy

Yes. Mine looks very legit, except for that difference in the end of the pump. It has the right part number, the right tool marks, the right anti corrosion residue, the right hand markings, etc. I did a bunch of research on how to spot a fake and this one seemed to check out. Until I went to complete the install and the fuel pump bottom bracket did come even close to fitting on.

ExtremePSI told me that it seems like Walbro made design changes several months ago.

Have you done any trimming to your hanger/ the cap? The 460s don't just drop right in without some cutting as an FYI.

I'm familiar with the process of installing a Walbro 450, and have watched all the videos and read the DIY threads, so yes, I did the usual trimming to the top barb and the bottom of the hanger.

You DO NOT lubricate spherical bearings with anything. They have a self lubricating liner. That is all. End of discussion.

I've never seen a Walrbo pump with that bottom.
