you might need this to check if strut bar is level, then check camber

I have a bar that I use so I can lean this on the tire/wheel
you can also use it to check if your gauge is level

apparently i need to change toe again, thought with toe being independent i'd be good. if it's not i need to get the rears aligned.

well i figured it didn't matter where it was. I set it to 0 sitting on the rotor and adjusted the angle til it read that the camber was positive half a degree.

just get a couple of rulers from HF for toe. you'll need it since youre doing more DIY

When Im setting alignment, I use some milk jugs half filled with water and a filled tube between them. Then I can level the spots on the floor with 1/8" tiles till the water is even in both jugs. I only do left/right. Dont care about front/rear.

I do the same thing. Once I know what the camber is, I adjust by a delta to get where I want. It works pretty great.

FWIW, the Evo came in at 3,116lbs after all the weight savings and balance changes I made this off-season. That's with a quarter tank of gas though. Figure with a full tank, about 63 more pounds, about 3,180lbs. pretty happy with that result overall (This is an MR with the 6 speed still), about 80lbs lighter than 2 years ago. and back to 60/40 (from like 63/37)

I bought the digital level gauge for $30 and the level for $15.

check that the wheel and steering shaft arent rubbing on anything. check that the bolts on the power steering body are still tight ive had them come loose before.

haven't tried it sitting still.
nothing else changed but that stuff. I'll check clearances next time i get a chance under the car. not sure what it could be
gonna also check the springs. if it doesn't do it in the air it's probably that and I'll update the posts. that's what I'm hoping anyway

One of my AST front struts makes that exact sound. There's a section on the shaft that's slightly scored and if it rotates to a specific spot relative to the body it will do it. I end up jacking up that corner and rotating the shaft 180° via the top nut to make it silent again.

This is how I set camber. Super easy. I use a level that is long enough to go across the wheel/tire and use a digital level gauge in the middle. This is the much cheaper way to do it with the car on the ground so it's accurate.
I bought the digital level gauge for $30 and the level for $15.

I may need to find camber bolts or do the same spacer technique on the bottom, which is currently max'd out
