I use XP10 on A052 and A7s. I also have a few higher speed events to deal with but they dont have any problem in the cold months on the small course. The downside to them is wear rate on track. For AX its NBD, for track they may only last a couple events.

Sigh. Has anyone felt a mechanical grinding/vibration on the 1st inch or two of clutch pedal travel before? You only feel it when the cars on and spinning, so I'm thinking it's the TOB but that sucks cause it's only got maybe 30 miles on it. EvoX FE car.

I also use a triangle file on all the splines to remove any burrs on both the trans input shaft and the pressure plate. Put grease on the splines then wipe it all off. A small film will stay and thats pretty much all thats needed and wont sling off.

I have a whole process. Yes, I definitely grease the inner race of the TOB and theirs an inner groove to hold it.

I also put lithium grease on the splines but I brake clean'd it off after realizing it could end up on the friction surface. I have a small file set i haven't used and will try your tip when i get a new clutch

ive been busy as per usual. At our last round a few weeks back we had an absolute mare,
Second lap of first practice the bung which comes with the drysump kit and is inserted into where the dipstick used to go came out and sprayed oil absolutely everywhere. had to shut the car down on track and roll into pits. had a small fire from the oil which burnt all my lower timing cover up 13 weeks wait from mitsi for replacement! :'(
Spent all day cleaning that mess and had to pull the intake manifold off to get down to the hole so i could plug it. Luckily one of the other competitors dad is a machinist by trade and we managed to organise a lathe to use so we spun up a new bung and tapped that in.
Went out for qualifying which went reasonably good. Car sounded a bit funny and was laggy out of turns. found that the exhaust manifold had cracked just above where i had the V band welded onto the manifold collector. The manifold is quite old so the steel looks like its in average condition and the penetration was average on the weld. We also noticed a little seep on one of the drysump fittings. went to give it a check for tightness assuming it may have backed off a bit and the fitting itself had cracked straight through the o ring groove. So panic stations to sort another fitting out. Had to downsize the hose size from -16 to -12 and get a new hose made up. No time to fix the cracked manifold.
Went out in the race and the manifold eventually cracked all the way through which lost 90% of my boost so we just limped around to get points. Whipped that off in the evening and managed to get it welded by somebody at around 11pm. All fitted up perfect in the morning went to run the car up and the alternator wasnt charging the battery up anymore. Checked alternator and it wasnt putting out a charge. Dead alternator! suspect when it got showered in oil it may have ruined it. This unfortunately put us on the trailer which sucked after all the effort to get going on the previous 2 days.
Weve lost contact with the top 2 guys in the championship now but we are 5 points off 3rd place so its all on for 3rd with 2 rounds to go.
Over the past week ive replaced the alternator with a new high output one, Replaced the power steering tank with a STM one as my standard one was spitting out fluid. and upgraded the drysump fitting that broke to a steel version rather than alloy. Now we wait till next weekend for round 4!
