+1 for Weir being hot garbage

What were you doing when it failed? Can't really tell you much without knowing that. I'd go used OEM of DSS if I needed an axle.

This is during my 4th feathered autox launch with brand new 18" re71r's at the back. The car was already rolling. It even had enough momentum to take the car off course ~200ft. It felt like my diff exploded. I looked under the car to see if the casing was damaged and I saw fluid oozing . turns out the clamp on the inner boot broke too. the casing and gears look fine.
I'm waiting on TRE to call me back, ready to send my extra diff. meanwhile I'll try using OE plates on this unit

What's the condition of the spare diff? I assume that all of this carnage didn't happen at the same time which would mean there was metal suspended in your oil and running through your bearings.

Dang. Uh Houston, *pssshhh* We have a slight malfunction here.

I'm swapping out my Weir during the holiday break so I'll take photos of mine after 7 years of abuse. 0 launches however.

Pics of my Weir experience, which they take no responsibility for, of course The basket had a number of cracks in it and couldn't be used. I had to buy an entirely different, used diff, to put together enough parts so Jon could build me something that worked LOL

Car starts and idles and you can drive it round the shop. couple things to sort out around the alternator not being told to charge and few bits of wiring to tidy up then tune today!

we're kinda blessed/cursed with the availability of the Houston Police Academy concrete test track. I had 2 prior transmission repairs and I'm anxious to put my diff together to see if my trans is still ok I recently posted a pic of my cracked bell housing that was leaking fluid. I just got my car back from repairs, replaced the rear diff fluid but I dont recall seeing large metal chunks. just done 3 autox events since that day

Yes, plenty of rear diff options. ATS, Cusco, Mfactory, OSG and probably a few more. It's front diffs where we tend to be more limited on options.

So cars halfway tuned now. Got all the base stuff done. Sitting at 350kw on 20psi and the power curve is almost vertical so motor is healthy as hell.

Turned it off for the weekend and torqued the head all down and new rocker cover seals. Finish tune monday morning

Place is dead again...

Got my car back from tuning last night, Haltech ECU is really good real easy to control and setup. easy to assign wires to sensors etc real user friendly. I thought it would take me a while to get used to after being a link customer for 8 years but nope.

Also looks like the haltech has much better control of the cars AFR's and boost vs the open loop boost on the link.

We ended up setting the spring pressure (18psi) at 375KW, Mid boost @24psi 435kw and overtake boost 28psi at 485kw.

So should be good to go!
