Lol, can that car even turn its wheels?!

315s are fun enough, 335s are going to require interesting changes to not make the car wider (or much wider).

Right now, Im more interested in making something interesting for covering the tires and moving weight back. Thinking more and more about relocating things...

Careful, the more that "feeds" up front the more weight and complication you endure

At the track. Sunrise. Great first day. Not a rub!!!! Car stops!!!! Finally have brakes to match power. Developed a hard front vibration. Similar to tire clag getting rims off balance. X pattern rotated the rims. Same vibration at highest speeds in track. Thought GoPro in hood was going to vibrate off. It shakes the steering wheel and lessens under 100mph. Got to be the non centric spacer? I don’t know. But it’s enough to take off and try to get rims rebalanced. Doing that now. “EDIT” - after 40 minutes at Discount Tire, they realized they didn’t have a deep socket to remove and balance rims.

Been doing serious 10/10ths driving for 20 min sessions. Found an old guy like me in his GT4 race prepped Cayman. We were taking turns exploring where each was faster. Great times. My previous brakes would have never held up That long at that level.

Just need to fix the vibration. Maybe tires slipped on rims due to torque and braking forces?

If you're not running hub centric adapter rings you should be.

Could you please show us how much clearance there is from the rear tires/wheel to the rear coilover dampener: either shock or body, which ever is closer?
On the front it seems there is about 1/2" clearance from tires to shock body.
Rear, I wonder how "inset" the wheels can be, before the assembly contacts the rear dampeners: assuming using of course SSB rear trailing arms..as you do.

Confirmed. Tires rotating on rim. Discount Tire used a bunch of paste/grease tire slop to mount tire. When tires rotated on rim, it threw alignment way off. Caused vibration.

Car ran better than ever!

It wouldn't effect alignment, just the balance of the tires. And I never balance my track wheels...

Also, you have to use the lube when mounting tires.

Yes to everything Sean just said. I never balance my track wheels either, they just tend to slip on the wheel especially if you use them within about a week of mounting. It also saves you a few bucks each time too

They'll slip on the wheel, and on a road course they fill up with rubber clag. So balance never stays the same anyways.

And yes, getting them mounted ahead of time so the lube fully dries helps prevent slippage.

I never balanced race rims either. For some reason, did this time. And I guess I never had tires mounted so close to a race.....which I find hard to believe. But this is the first time I have had tires slip so much on the rim.

My post race assessment is: my car is a heavy pig! Moving forward is all about weight reduction. I always told myself I would stop at weight reduction and sell EVO then buy race car. ?????

Will try and attach pic of rear rim/tire/wheel spacing.

The rubbing in the back: Would you say that +38 on 18x10.5 with 295 Hoosiers is as deep as you can "sink in" the tires/wheels?
Or could you sink them deeper? The rubbing area: is that looking into the back seat or trunk area? Wonder if it is is negotiable.

So you don't use spacers in the rear obviously. And on the front after shorter springs, do you use any spacers?

The Cayman GT4 on track, was it on Hoosiers too?

Very cool outcome.
