Woooooooooo

And no new cars for 2021. That should be interesting.

Shopping list:
* 18x10s with.. something.
* fender rolling from someone who knows what they're doing
* New diff
* boost pill delete thingie + new O2 housing + new tune

It'll be interesting to see the schedule come out. I'd happily run my car as-is at a tour/pro, on 2015-vintage RE71Rs just to get back into the habit and vote with my feet. I'm not sure I'll be able to do quite enough dialing in of the wheel/tire fitment this year.. I just want to go to events and remember what it's like and have fun which has me leaning towards running most of my events in the FoST which requires no work or thinking.

They didnt change the fender rolling limits still right? Im not seeing how you're getting more than 275s legally under stock fenders up front.

My vote is to build/drive the evo. Haha...Thoughts on what tires/sizes you would go with?

Dallas, you mean out back, not front, right?

As far as I'm aware, you can still only roll the lips. No pulling, etc.

1) I still am considering doing an 11" 295 and 10" 255 combo and giving it a shot (same diameter, so no worries). An 11" with a 295 should be possible up front as I was on a 285/10.5" (the normal ASP setup) a couple years ago without issue....

2) Else, possibly try a 10"/275 all the way around. Unsure how much of a benefit it would actually be over a 265 square setup.... Doug Mikko claimed to run a square 285/30/18 on 10's. I feel as though it is possible, but you'd have to run a fairly high ride height out back and have the perfect offset - like my Wedsport TC105x's to make that work. Again, the RE71R in a 285 is going out of production and uncertain if there will be a replacement tire from Bridgestone, in that size as well....I know Ryan P. (ASP evo) ran a 285 on a 10" all the way around, but I couldn't recall if his rears were only rolled at the time or not.

3) Crazy idea, and unsure if it's legal, but run a square 11" /295 combo to where the rears are hella poke? Uncertain what type of spring rates I'd have to even be considering out back so it wouldn't rub the rear quarter? Can anyone confirm if that is legal - to have tires poking out in STU? Thoughts? This is really the route that intrigues me the most...

Keep in mind also, my car's been mostly dormant the last 4 years so I'm not even sure a 265 would fit currently. My fenders haven't been touched.

Are any of the new hot tires going to be available in 285/30R18?

Tire Rack measured the 265 A052s as a 9.9" tread width compared to 10.3" for the 285 RE-71Rs. That's only about 10mm difference, which might be a wash with the better compound of the A052s.

Can't speak to legality, but this is what my local STI competitor did in STU for several years.

Would be interesting to try. If it was my car, I'd want some stiff bump stops or short travel shocks to keep the tire out of the fender. Every time I pull my rear spring and cycle the tire up into the rear wheel well I'm surprised at how much up travel we have back there.

The Falken RT660 comes in a 285/30/18 size, TireRack says it measures at 10.7" of tread width which is really wide. Like Brent mentioned, the RE71R looks to be going away so at this moment, it looks like our options are the 265/35/18 A052, 265/35/18 RT660 (should be arriving soon according to TR), and the 285/30/18 RT660 (barring a new tire release). 275s could also be an option if you don't mind the taller tire + gearing, especially if we end up not being able to fit a 285mm tire.

Has anyone here experienced the RT660 vs A052/RE71R/Rival 1.5S?

A couple of buddies co-drove a very well sorted STS miata (that came within hundredths or thousands from winning in 2019). They initially ran on A052's in the morning session, then switched to the RT660 in the afternoon. They didn't seem to be impressed and the times were about a second off the A052 times. Granted, this car was set up for the A052's, so maybe there was time left out there if they adjusted their setup for the RT660's...

The old square setup was 18x10 +35 / 265mm

The new ones pictured are 18x11 +15 for the front. Seem to fit almost perfectly and clears the JRZ spring perch. Will know for sure once the 295's are mounted. I may need a 3mm spacer possibly.

Going to try the 295/11" - 255/10" combo first. I have my doubts whether that 295 will clear up front, but I'll know tonight.

If all of this fails, I'm going to go the 285 route. I also I hope the supposed Ecsta V730 lives up to the hype and comes in manly sizes....

Same on mine, 295 A7's/R7's. It "technically" clears the MCS coil perch but on compression I feared it would find the 5" spring perch and rub the sidewall a bit, so I use a 8mm spacer all around to keep it square. 0 issues so far. Now I just have to get 2 more sets lol.

I can't recall, but are you on aftermarket or modified front fenders?

Voltex fender + extension front and rear. I want to go 315 but the "height" of the tire is holding me back atm. I also had to carve out quite a bit of the undertray/splitter for the turning radius to be happy. On "normal" Voltex fenders I had to carve out a little bit in the rear for squat. However that was on 550F/700R springs. I added the extensions and went up to 700F/900R since then and of course no issues.

Yes, the crash beams will be on the car and the USDM bumper for legality sake.

I hope to drive it around tonight if time allows so see how bad it rubs the fender liners...
