What is a Hillclimb?
Hillclimbs have been around since the invention of the automobile. Initially they were to prove the strength of an automobile to be able to traverse large obstacles and survive. Public Roads were blocked off and automobiles try their best to be the fastest to the summit of the mountain. In the tradition of hillclimbing we give you the SnowShoe Mountain Hillclimb presented by Budweiser.
We are closing off the rear access road to Snow Shoe Mountain Resorts to allow racers to traverse up at an unlimited amount of speed, whatever their vehicles can handle on the curvy mountainside road. Spectators are allowed to watch from various locations along the 1.75 mile route with many locations providing extremely exciting action!
Eligible Vehicles
Racecars, streetcars, hybrids, kitcars, anything that has sufficient rollbar rollover protection to support the weight of the vehicle. Drivers will wear protective clothing, helmets, fireproof shoes, gloves, etc. Parade Down The Mountain
During breaks in the racing sessions we will parade all cars that wish to run in the session down the hill from the paddock to the starting line. We will then close the road to start the timed runs, once the last car runs up the mountain we will then open the road to take a break and parade the racers back down.
Spectator Shuttles
During the parade breaks spectator shuttle buses will go up/down the hill from the paddock to the starting line and drop spectators off at designated locations so that they can fully experience the thrills of watching the course from every angle.
Event Workers
We need corner workers and assistance in many other capacities, so if you want to be close to the action and get free food all weekend sign up today! We will have manned corner worker stations at every corner on the road as well as at the starting line and the finish line.
