I was there, I heard Navid announced as the winner, and I shook his hand in congratulations.

That other list may have been Saturday results. Navid was way down in the standings after Saturday's runs, as he had red light and cone issues on Saturday, but cleaned up admirably on Sunday.

Congratulations Navid! On the downside, that's just one more nail in the coffin for moving the Evo out of ESP.

Randy was posting on all three sites; The SD site had the latest from Robert Puertas, who was possibly going to codrive my car at the Nat's. It worked out better for him to drive the Clemen's car so I'm not going this year. Anyway, it will be interesting to see how Navid and my friendly local rival Henry Botkin do at the nats.

Hey ChrisW, we should've done STU this year in Topeka . Will you be building your car for SP or ST next year?

White777, it is a smaller nail as it is the general consensus that the Evo is more competitive in Pros, which are not supposed to influence Solo2 classing.

cjb, Yes Navid has been codriving Joe's car this year. Navid won a Pro in San Bernardino, CA in March.

jbrennen, How was it out there driving the Sube?

Yup... eventually Randy post the results that link directly from the scca site.

Are you still racing the EVO? Haven't seen you at the events.

The SM Scooby didn't make it to Topeka, so I had to beg and borrow my way into some rides at the last minute.

I ended up driving two cars during the Finale. A Scirocco on Saturday, then when it got sick with a total loss of compression in one cylinder, a BMW M3 on Sunday. It was fun, and definitely some good seat time in some different kind of cars. My performance in the Finale (9th out of 11 in SM) came down to my four Sunday runs in the M3, which were my first four autoX runs ever in a RWD car on R compounds. Talk about learning under pressure. To add to the difficulty, the tires were very well-used Hoosiers (about 80 runs on them) which were not sticking very well -- and only 245 width, when the top four M3s in Street Mod are all running on 285s.

I would have loved to had a competitive ride in an AWD car, but it just didn't work out this time.

I am going to wait to see what happens with the EVO before making firm plans for next year. Outside of that decision, I am well past the allowed tire mods for STU. I will continue prepping for SP, but might jump to SM
