I Beat that rod with a hammer for a good 10mins and it didnt MOVE! Kevin and I disagree and I might be way off, but I think the rod spun a bearing and welded it self and that is what caused the rod to break, but again I could we way off....... All I know is that thing isn't moving and most if not all of the thrown rod motors I have seen, the rod might be bound up but it can be beat into submission..... this one isnt going anywhere!

Nice Lamp. I have been wanting to make one for a while you beat me to it. You could go to home depot and get some stainless steel paint and paint it so it doesnt rust up.

ya they are really cheap to make, the trick is to blow the motor in a way that leaves some parts stuck to the crank, it makes every one unique!!!! then you get a $10 home depot lamp kit, one golf tee, and a Bic mechanical pencil put it all together an you have a lamp. i have been trying to think of a lamp shade possibly an oil pan? next up is something for the engine block and then maybe mess around with springs. im thinking i can mount them on the wall and hold wine or alc bottles.
