New beginning
I've been driving my 10 year-old New Beetle to NTEC meets for the past year, since the Evo 8 is now a full-blown race car. Last Saturday evening I broke down and bought a silver X MR base model from Don Herring in Irving. Thanks much Don for the great service and driving me to the Plano store to pick it up. It's so nice to once again drive an Evo with an interior and sound deadening.

It'll remain mostly stock for quite awhile. That was the deal with my wife in order to make the purchase. See you'all at the next NTEC meet!

Mark, you'll be absolutely amazed at what that car (stock tires and all) will do on a road course. No need to mod (beyond a flash- and that doesn't count) for a long time.

Congrats!!! That will make a nice Daily Driver for sure!!! Im thinking maybe 6 months before you are doing something too it !

I really considered getting one when I crashed my lancer but went with a Jetta TDI... there is just something about a 40+mpg car and a 80mile round trip to work that appealed to me hahahahaha!

I can certainly understand that. I also drive around 70 miles round trip and was considering a Honda Fit, but really wanted to drive an Evo daily and to NTEC meets again.
