Don Herring can take a long walk off a short pier -- in regards to getting a rental. It's usually a perk the dealer gives to people who purchase cars there and I'm not sure if lewisville even gives rentals -- I purchased mine via Huggins and they don't give rentals.
Good Luck though in getting your situation resolved.

yeah don herring mitsu tried to void my ****ing warranty on a drivetrain issue when nothing that was done to the car would effect the drivetrain. But..they would always hook it up with a rental. richard(lewisville tech) said if its at as low of miles as my car then usually they'll set someting up..just wanting to see if anyone has delt with this service dept yet to talk to a cool guy there..alot of them seem like dicks.
honestly.i haven't actually met a service advisor at any dealer with mitsu that i've actually liked alot.

^ re the glovebox rattle, DH replaced mine without any help. Finally I put some thick felt stickons in the corner where it closes and that seems to have made it better. It makes it harder to close, but there's no movement in the box any more.
Of course my car's loud as crap, so it could be rattling and I just can't hear it
I've got a new couple rattles by the steering wheel and behind the radio now, but I think those are the cables I have running back there more than anything.
ETA: I miss Stoney

Regarding rental car at Lewisville Mitsubishi...I'd VERY MUCH beware.
I had my '03 Evo there--MANY times, actually, for the same drivetrain issue that they couldn't seem to fix (they kept telling me the yellow, sticky fluid under my car and clearly coming from the diff was actually a coolant leak that they "fixed" and there was no drivetrain issue). I was given a rental car once. On that one occasion, they told me they were going to give me a loaner car and NOT a rental. They gave me a loaner once before during the drivetrain ordeal. I didn't even need the loaner since I typically rode to work with my wife. But since they were arranging it, I took them up on it. (After 7 trips to the dealership and three months without my car, all for the same problem, I decided that I shouldn't be inconvenienced anymore).
Anyway, when I got there, they instead set me up with a rental from Enterprise down the street, and they used my CC as the security (which is standard procedure). Turns out there was a...ahem..."paperwork mistake" and the charge went on my card. I fought it back and forth between Lewisville Mitsu and the rental company, and even disputed the charge with my credit card company. Ultimately I ended up getting stuck with the charge. After another similar incident related to my current evo, I refuse to even set foot inside their store anymore, and discourange anyone else from ever doing it either.
The guy I dealt with was named Bob Beauchampp, or something like that, and he very well may not be there anymore.

problem is if i go back to Don herring plano theyre going to try and revoke my warranty because of things on the car..even though theyre not directly related to the issue. ****ing stupid. thing that pisses me off is that when i got the car they said they'de have to directly prove it caused a fault before any of that could happen. which is complete BS now...ugh..i dunno where to take it

+1 I've said it before and Ill say it again.... your warranty is void on on a evo the second you drive it off the lot!! you might get a wing replaced, or your brakes replaced when they fad... but anything major... forget it! you either moded your car or you drive beyond a reasonably sporty driver... aka driver abuse....
that being said.... richard really works hard to help out evo people but of all my experiences with lewisville (we bought melissa's outlander there) richard or jessy are about the only people to work with.... and we have never gotten a loaner when our outlander has been in for service.

Come on guys they all come with a warrenty, they just wont let you use it
As for Lewisville Mitsu, I came in there once to have an interior issue fixed on the seats, which they fixed for free. It was odd that my car ended up on a lift though and the hood accidently propped open and one other guy just happen to have a camera. No lie.

If any dealer in N. America refuses warranty work on your vehicle simply ask for the statement in writing of why they refuse to repair it and why they claim it's void... Most dealerships will not be willing to give you something in writing and if they do not threaten to seek legal council.
I've never had any issue getting warranty on any vehicle including my highly modified Camaro when it was still under warranty.
If you'd like to read more about the magnuson-moss warranty act that protects you from stuff like described above. See the below link.

I once had a GM dealer threaten to void the warranty and refuse work on my car because I had Nitto Road Race tires on the front and Nitto Drag Radials on the back. As soon as I asked for a written statement so I could take it up with my attorney and GM they gladly checked my car in and fixed my issue.

the lemon law isn't a law more of a guideline.... and guidelines aren't always followed

No, the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act IS THE LAW, it's just that the cost of actually forcing a dealer/manufacturer to follow it most of the time is more than the cost of the denied warranty claim (lawyers fees, etc). Plus most manufacturers have some sort of arbitration agreement that they force on buyers -- and arbitration rarely results in a favorable decision for the plaintiff.

+1 -- however in alot of instances the dealerships are independent and they do not want to get into a litigation battle over a denied warranty claim without proof. The only way the arbitration stuff becomes involved is if the manufacturer denies the claim. Usually it's just the dealership trying to deny the claim because if you end up filing a lemon law it's the independent dealer that has to buy the vehicle back and then seek reimbursement from the manufacturer or sell it as used if the manufacturer says it's okay. Dealers know if the issue you're having has a high probability of multiple visits and repairs to remedy the issue they will try to deny the claim and void your warranty so you can't lemon-law your vehicle.
When I purchased my Evo Huggins actually had a used Lemon-Law Evo X for sale. The original owner got the vehicle lemon-lawed because of the upper rpm power loss found in the original tune of the Evo X. That issue was finally addressed in the 2nd reflash.
Mitsubishi said the car was fine so the dealer had to put it up for sale as a used one even though it was bought back under the lemon-law.
