Can we update Post #1 with a few more definitive details? Meeting right behind Don Herring at 11 AM, some food will be provided, anything else?
I detailed my car this evening so hopefully that will hold over until Saturday morning..

I need to know if anyone who will be at the meet Saturday has any experience with cams or built engines for these cars. When I got home tonight I noticed a ticking sound coming from what sounds like directly from the head.

I need someone with more experience with these engines to listen to it idle, and give me some recommendations.

I can take a listen, but it's probably just lifter tick which is very common with the 4G63. What type of oil and filter are you using?

^ is probably right. not unless you just replaced your cams and the lifters were not bled properly. just be there tomorrow so that we could check it out.

I'm going to assume it's not "common" since before last night I had never heard that sound come from the engine. I've also been reading that lifter tick will come and go depending on oil temp and rpm. This is very consistent with consistent volume and frequency varies directly with rpm while maintaining the same volume.

The oil is the same oil the previous owner installed. I've only put 1k miles on the car since I bought it. I have receipts and they used Mobil 1 synthetic. I'm not sure what type of filter.

First post updated with more info.

I slacked regarding the organization of food for this event so if people could bring their own that would be great. I'm sure I'll just head over to a nearby fast food restaurant sometime during the afternoon. Sorry to disappoint but I just don't have the means to bring my grill out there nor do I feel like having someone cater the event since thats a lot more $$$ than NTEC has (none LOL). I'd eventually like to get some fundraisers going so we can afford to do things like that though. If nothing else we could organize to have some pizzas delivered or something or maybe a few of us can go pick up a bunch of fast food for everyone so please bring cash if you want to do something like this.

It's going to be a laid-back and casual day with beautiful weather so I'm not too worried about it

So I take it that Don is not providing lunch anymore?

And yeah, there's a bunch of restaurants/fast food in the area for us to choose from so there won't be a problem finding something for everyone.
