annual roadtrip with my wife

Every year my wife and I take a big roadtrip in early summer.

In 2007 we drove around Lake Superior (~1,800 miles total) in my S2000. In 2008 we drove around Lake Michigan (~1,700 miles total) in her WRX. In 2009 we drove around Lake Huron (~2,200 miles total) in my Evo.

Now for 2010 we're thinking about taking a trip through Arkansas up into the Ozarks! I'm looking at ~1,300 miles in 4 days; car TBD. Here is the preliminary route I've made: http://tinyurl.com/y4jhdav
I'm sure I'll be making more tweaks to it over the next few days before booking the hotels.

Depending on the car situation I'm down for another Arkansas drive.

Nice looking route. I'd like to do something similar. A few years ago, before kids (!) the missus & I did a trip that included the Natchez Trace Parkway.

It was very nice, and I highly recommend taking a look. That way you could hit Memphis too, for some hot Jazz & BBQ, plus hit Nawlins on the way back. Just a thought.

Even better, go further east and hit the Tail of the Dragon, with the Evo of course!

The Ozarks are awesome, good choice of destinations! I have been up there at least 7 or 8 trips on both the bike and the evo, and the roads are second to none (I am leaving for Eureka Springs on the bike in three weeks for another trip). On a large portion of your route, you will be on larger, more congested hwys, you are misssing some of the true gems that this area is known for. Let me know if you want to discuss some of the routes that I've taken over the years, it might make it more enjoyable for you...

There is normally a huge Arkansas drive with the S2000 club in that area. They drive in from everywhere and meet in Arkansas, then drive the hilly roads. Might want to check the S2000 forums.

Arkansas Has some awesome roads for sure. I've been all over on both my RC51 and the Evo. But for some exceptional driving thats just a tad bit further, I would look at Tennesse

Thanks for the advice guys! I'm going to sit down this week with your suggestions and see what feasible changes I can make.

Let me know too, I live up in the area with a another evo owner that'd be down, been here for about a year and have done the northwest roads but nothing beyond them.
