Ha, we'll see. Anything with "us f1" in the title seems to fall apart soon after it starts

Sounds like the deal is done. I can't wait to see what the track layout will be.

What requirements are there for an F1 track? They had to have considered drivewayaustin.com I thought it was pretty nice... still lacking infrastructure, but a nice track.

My friend and I were discussing what the track might look like and he said given how this is Texas, he wouldn't be surprised if the track was the shape of Texas, lol! Then we got to thinking how there's 90 degree turns already, you can throw in chicanes along the Gulf coast, and probably make the top of the panhandle into a long sweeping turn (or have the pits and start line up there). It COULD actually work pretty well, hehe.

A track like that would be pretty cool lol, can't wait to see what it looks like, and if clubs can rent it

"and excellent transportation infrastructure make Austin ideally suited to host and manage an event of this magnitude."

OH EM GEE is really all I have to say. I've been hoping for Formula 1 in the US for years now. I've always despised NASCAR.

they have the most stringent requirements of any form of racing. indy spent 50 million making that track F1 level. and the track was already there.

one of the articles i read said that the pavement for the track alone will be in the 250 million range. most F1 tracks are longer then 3 miles, which would rule out most tracks in tx. the track essentially needs to have perfect pavement. eagles canyon has so many bumps it would bounce an F1 cars suspension apart if it went to brake and ran over some of that washboard.

I've started looking at homes to rent down there for the race, i'm going to make a long weekend out of it.
