Nitrogen Fill Service

So, my usual oil changing facility just bought a new Nitrogen generator. It does an exchange of air to nitrogen to a minimum of 97% pure nitrogen. I did my tires today and it only took about 15 minutes.

All for $25. It also includes life time service so you can go back anytime to have them adjusted for free.

Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. If you are interested, go up to...

25 dollars for a one time fill would be crazy expensive, But lifetime nitrogen refills is a much better deal. Take it out to the track or autocross and record tire pressures before and after so you can see the difference it makes

I agree that $25 for a one time fill would be a little ridiculous... however since this is a lifetime fill it seems well worth it.

I have a track day on the 10th so I will find out then.

I am guessing you do not track your car much... I find it invaluable as I don't have to constantly check and change my tire pressure after each session.

Also, I find that it extends the life of the utterly pathetic longevity of my NT05's

I just don't buy into the hype of yet another profit margin driver. I put nitrogen right up there with service plans and dealer protection packages.

It might help to have someone use two nitrogen filled tires with two ambient air filled tires do a few track events and post their results. Or maybe this is another case for Mythbusters...

myth busters or not, F1 cars have nitrogen filled tires, indy, nascar, and just about every major racing series there is uses pure nitrogen. and for me, if F1 does it, then it is absolutely correct.
