I think I just got knocked on the head
I saw one of the new Genesis coupe's at a gas station yesterday; I'm impressed. Build quality and interior was just as good as an Evo X (much nicer than mine). Other than the rear quarter windows the exterior was stunning. And it comes with a detuned 4b11 engine mated to a 6sp.
Then I went and look at their price...so tempting...... Though not nearly as capable as an evo it's an interesting car and very tempting for the price.

It really reminds me of the Nissan Silvia. Low price, 4cyl turbo, rwd, sporty, etc. I don't like the v6 version, who wants a Hyndai Minivan v6 when you could have a Mitsubishi 4b11.

Yeah it's not a bad car. It's RWD too which is cool.
There's a thread on this forum done by some shop (I forget which) where they bought one and were pepping it up. The results of their work was an improvement over stock but not what I would consider impressive -- if I remember correctly.
There's other cars I would probably buy first if I were looking for a sporty RWD import. But if power and high performance was not then goal then I'd say sure - looks like a fine car for what it is.

Hundai is rolling out the World Engine v3 with the 2011 Hyundai Sonata 2.0T as Kracka said, it'll be the current genesis v2 engine but it will have direct injection, and a larger twin scroll td05 Mitsu turbo (couldn't find which one). The shortblock is exactly the same though.
The world engine was designed to take 4b11 technology and distill it down to be a cheap to produce mass market engine. But based on the results I have been seeing some people get out of putting 35r's on these genesis coupes...looks like it has plenty of potential too.
