where: Sonny Bryan's BBQ - Irving, TX
date: 3rd Tuesday of May - 5/17/2011
time: 7:00 in the parking lot, head in around 7:15 to eat (depending on weather).

Also up for discussion, in coming months would people like a change of scenery and go elsewhere for a while since we've been doing Sonny Bryan's for almost a year now?

Oh wow. Has it been almost a year now for Sonny Bryan's? That's insane. They've been doing such a great job with keeping us fed and the location is pretty good too. I wouldn't be opposed to a change of scenery every now and then though. Not sure what would be a good place though.

This will be my first one. You know, there's a awesome burger joint with a few locations around the city. It's called Twisted Root. They offer burgers of all types -- beef, buffalo, venison, turkey and (season permitting) ostrich, emu, elk, antelope, boar, lamb. It's a pretty cool place. Might be something to consider one day if y'all like burgers. I don't think there's one near Irving, though. But they are growing.

Oh, they also have a huge patio area. So far, I've had their regular beef burgers, their venison burgers and their buffalo burgers. The buffalo burger will make your eyes roll back into your head (my friend laughed at me when mine did that after the first bite).
