Kan's Dyno day 8/14/2011

Steve Kan was offering a dyno day today. There were a lot of cars, EVO's, 350z, G35's, Lexus, Honda, and Acura.

I want to say thanks to Steve for sharing his Sunday to be out in the heat. It was my first time to meet Steve. He's a really nice guy. There was over 50 people there either participating or just being spectators. It was a great time.

For the results..my Evo X did 375 hp. For comparison on Cobb's dyno I did 384 hp. So that's super close only a 2.3% variance.

I hope this lays to rest all the forum bad mouthing between dynos, and shops. After all there really is no need for it and from what I have seen and experienced both the people, Chris Flemming and his staff and Steve Kan and his staff are professional and just class acts.

I didn't stay all day but there was a black Evo 9 with an FP black and that did 370 hp on 93 pump. Andrews Evo 9 did 450 hp on e85.

It was a good turnout..there was an old school Plymouth Duster that almost broke the straps on the dyno during a 1/4 mile run

It was a great turn out. Thanks for coming out. I think we ended up having close to 150 people during peak (around 1pm-2pm??) We dyno 33 cars total today and the duster freaked me out because I haven't had anything launch so hard on the dyno. He only made 330rwhp but supposely run mid 11's.....

Tom, what was your torque on Steve's dyno?

He was using a weight based torque. He had my weight set at only 3500 lbs with me in it. So it was not accurate. I wasn't comparing torque either just the hp to see how the dynos compared.

NTEC had a decent turnout with 6+ people that I saw. It was nice to see how similarly the the local Mustang dynos read.

Congrats to Tom and Andrew for both putting down solid numbers!

From what I saw, it was an uncalled for, and a completely spiteful comment.

This is not your first rodeo either. It's like you go out of your way to start fights with Evo X owners and or anyone that goes to any shop that's not your favorite.

I don't understand where this hatred and or loathing comes from. Maybe it's envy?

Maybe your like the wolf that couldn't reach the delicious grapes, and therefore just claimed they must be sour.

I sure would like to meet you and buy you a beer and have a chat with you to understand what the problem is about...

Why can't you come and join the community and be a friend instead of an adversary?

Come to the meet tonight, a lot of the time a simple face-to-face meeting can resolve any online misunderstanding.

FWIW I have met LacerGuy before, he is a good guy, maybe just misunderstood. I cant speak for his love of techno music, but other than that he is pretty darn cool! I might be biased since he has the only other RS I see around. I didnt see the comments this time but I didnt think the last time he got crap was deserved. He just commented on not liking a dyno. Nothing wrong with that IMO.

Tom, you can buy me a beer now since I shared my feelings.

You doing Cars and Coffee next month?

I was out of town during the dyno day but either way I has just been dynoed on Kan's dyno so it would be pretty pointless.
