looking for local tint shop
Currently looking for a local tint shop in the Dallas region that does considerably good work for a reasonable price. Any suggestions? Really picky how they work on it because I don't want the workers messing up the interior of my car. Thanks

Not trying to start a fight or endless discussion, but.... the best quality films and 3M is not one... will not sell to people that dont have a retail store front. Also you need glass wall boards to lay the tint on to make sure its lint, debris free and not have crap from a dirty garage in it.
I have seen some of the "tint jobs" from less quality places and well... we'll leave it at that.
A good tint job is one that you cant tell its been tinted and its optically clear; even the rear window.
Also places that change ownership frequently because they are franchised dont honor warranty claims.. period.
I use Protint in Plano. Owned by the same guy for over 20 years. He even carries the Huper Optik tint. Tell him your a Cobb customer and he will give you a discount.

Thanks for the quick replys guys. I've been to a couple shops and i personally do not like how they treat customer cars. They spray that windex or fluid on the inside window and just don't care about the interior, which it gets all over. I just want a good place that will take care of the car and hassle free in the future.
Tom- how much did protint charge you for your job with the Cobb discount?

972-713-6861.
Claudio Tamburri is the owner. Give him a call tell him your a Cobb customer and I sent you. The normal price is 300 for the high end tint but he carries some less expensive tint as well.

Edit: I now can't be 100% sure it was protint so removing my comment.
I had no problems and no visual issues with the tint I had on the 335i. The M5 has one issue which is my fault (well two issues, one Amy scratched it with her ring and there's bubble under the mega firm window liner that BMWs have that I caused by rolling the window down too early.
OP: they HAVE to wet the window very well or it won't work. The small amount that runs down the car won't hurt anything.
Just don't watch

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I will be giving these shops a call in the next few weeks for quotes and looking up reviews online.
This is the type of shop I would trust my car with. A business that stands behind what they do. Thank you very much Tom for the suggestion and personal review on Protint

Wow I sorry to hear that. Claudio, and I have known him for over 20 years, is one of the most honest, ethical people I know. Im pleased he took care of the issue. I wont go anywhere else because of two factors. His prices are fair and no matter what, he stands behide what he does.
