So I can see some really cheap Plasma compare to LCD/LED. Like this Vera 42 Panasonic 42" Class Plasma 1080p 600Hz $578. Is there something wrong with it? Why is cheaper than LCD/LED? I wonder why others saying don't buy Plasma. The review looks ok 4 to 5stars. Can you really spot the difference between 720p to 1080p?

LED's have a LONG life time where as the plasma's dont. as for the 1080p difference... you wont be able to tell the difference if you are sitting more than 2 feet as human eyes cant detect the difference.

If it's a 42" Panasonic, I'd jump on it. Good deal. I have 720P and no, you really can't detect the difference.

here is my thoughts research on LCD PLASMA AND LED.... LED is the newest tech.. fastest refresh rates with best contrast.. also MOST expensive... plasma is a tiny bit below LED in contrast and refresh rates and runs a little warm (not hot, just warm compared to other TVs)... LCD has very low refresh rates and in high "action" scenes it will have blur and "trails", but is the cheapest... so its all in what your looking to use the set for... i went with 50" plasma as it was cheap but very good picture.... so i always suggest going with the proven tech that is cheaper than the new tech... as far as not lasting as long.... we are talking years... the led will last about 7 years before it starts acting up the plasma around 5 years and the lcd around 5 years (of course this also depends on the manufacturer)... i for one will be getting a new TV as the tech changes every couple years or three years... so no reason to worry about " how long they last"... IMO

Not true, plasma has a 100,000 hour half-life. We're talking 50+ years at 5+ hours per day. LEDs have the same rating. So they're identical.
720 v 1080, see below

Completely not true. LED has much much slower refresh than plasma, and much much worse contrast. LEDs naturally cycle at 120hz. They market 240 or 480 based on interpolating the screens, so its all marketing bull****. Plasma don't even have a refresh rate, because the gas changes instantly with the input, there is zero delay or lag. Hence why plasma is the best picture quality, and the best for action scenes and sports, because motion blur is not possible on a plasma. Quit buying marketing hype. LED is cool because is uses less electricity and is thin, and doesn't get hot like plasmas do. Plasma has a massively long life as well, they're typically 100,000 hour half-life. Meaning 5 hours a day for 54 years before it is half brightness of new. So no, not 5 years lol. You'll replace it because TVs are outdated before it is worn out.

As for 720 v 1080, for most ppl on a sub 55" screen, you can't tell. Some people with good eyes can, so just go check it out for yourself. On anything 42" or smaller, I wouldn't care, as thats where I can't see the difference anymore.

I completely agree and at the side time dismiss anything about TV longevity or clarity (relative). Once you get the TV home it really doesn't matter, you will never appreciate how good/bad it is unless it is REALLY bad, once you leave the store. And we buy TV's at such a cheap price, if it fails after 5 years, you can buy another one for the price of a summer electric bill or two. The stores like to place the okay TV's next to the worst just to get you to buy what they are wanting to sell. I get so many compliments on my plasma I bought over 4 years ago on Black Friday, no one ever goes.."That doesn't look as good as an LED TV." Get one with the connections you want, that is the biggest purchase defining decision I use and even then if you have a receiver, you only need one.

TV's are no different than anything else you can buy. You 100% of the time get what you pay for. LCD tech has been around longer than any other current TV tech. If you get just a straight LCD TV its cheap, really cheap and the quality shows. Smearing and tearing. It sucks. Plasma do indeed have higher contrast ratios because they are not as bright; meaning they have lower lumen levels. If you want a GOOD LCD TV it cant be thin.. because it needs to be LED backlit.

Depends if I have to wait for this clutch, all the other parts are in hand. I am taking the sway bars over Monday morning, Kevin has a clutch on the shelf but I am looking to save where I can!

Absolutely you can see a difference between 720p and 1080p and then again to 2K and 4K both the newest tech.

The human eye can see around the 4K limit.
