Sunday, March 9, 2014 DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME...WE MEET 10:30...feels like 9:30
rain or shine this is a GO!!!
This is a really great cruise that includes: leisurely rural two lanes, nasty twisty rural two lanes, single lane near the Brazos, and some freeway for mixing it up....
Grandview, GlenRose, Granbury, MotorSportsRanch, Mansfield
10:30am SHARP, don't be late!
Cruise leaves from Kroger Parking lot with: Starbucks, WalMartGrocery
6ish dinner
(Auto Themed Sports Bar that has a huge parking lot, 3 fireplaces and waitresses the way you like em!!
Meet us here at the end of the day for those who can't make the earlier drive...
To Do/ To Bring:
helmets (if you wanna ride around MSR)
cameras
check cold tire pressures before Kroger
top off all tanks at Kroger or Wal-Mart so we all start off full
handheld radios as many as you can (including extra batteries)
couple of drinks/snacks, we have an overlook rest stop planned-not a bunch of stops
you all know your cars, so come prepared to repair/maintain your vehicle etc.
look'n fwd to a safe and fun day!!
link to pics from last year:
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/no...ures-here.html
Link to video of one a lane Brazos River Rd and a great summary of the day!!
South NTEC cruise video (thanks to Pirana!!) {check out the scary off at #2:00....people said he had bad tires, but it appears he dropped two wheels into the dirt} these cars are incredible and to prove it we can do a few laps at MSR while we're there!!!
UPDATES
I think everyone will be comfortable on the cruise...two wives rode shotgun last year (one pregnant and had a blast!!!)
the one thing i like most about the EVO is the way it feels driving out in the country on hilly...twisty roads...at ANY speed its spectacular....
the spirited driving can be left for MSR, dropping a tire (like in the video) leaves little room for error on these narrow twisties.
That was in an area of many tight left-right-lefts and he was lucky it was on one of the few straights in that area,
but I assure you
its safer than any DFW freeway because its all you,
no crazies and if there are, we'll ask them to leave...
MSR
i've had only one request for riding and none for driving at MSR
we'll have a 30-40" rest stop there
LUNCH
I'm waiting to decide (the day of)
on the lunch location.
Jim and I scouted a few more options
giving us some choices depending upon weather, and the size of the group in case parking is a problem
DINNER
Is everyone planning on staying for dinner and drinks at Fat Daddy's??
I'd like to give them a count if possible...
CHEERS
just a reminder, we LEAVE at 10:30am
there's a Starbucks, Wal-Mart Grocery w/gas, Kroger w/gas/E-85
ie..you should be DRAINED and your car should be FULL
first stop will be 80 miles
might want to bring some snacks and drinks so you don't miss anything
driver's meeting 10:25
drivers empty
cars full
just in case:

Kroger to Fat Daddy's Sports & Spirits - Google Maps,
I suggest you print this for your navi-guesser
I'm available at 817-938-4944
We will be at MotorSportRanch while NASA is conducting their race weekend.
Several Evos will be competing in the Time Trials.
