dont trust those numbers .. i had someone elses tires on there that were smaller than stock. car was hitting 4th rev limit before i even went over the line
earlier in the year (with my stock 235's) i was running over 25 mph on the back half. Soooo

Jer and others, thanks for the advice... I am currently trying to decide what kind of compromise I am willing to live with. Considering that I kept my car dang near stock for years I don't think an overly aggressive cam is what I am looking for. I guess I will just have to accept that I won't own the fastest Evo in the world...

225/40/17 I nearly blew a tire out and had some old hand me downs laying around. threw them on, didnt want to go to the track with them, but well i did. On top of that i let a bunch of air out of them (were about 19 psi) so not only were the rims like touching the cement, but the front bumper was only like 2 inches off the ground now
I did what i had to do, and i couldnt resist the track even till i got the new rubbers, but was not in a hurry, because im parking the car in like 3 weeks or so anyways.

if you put 285's on the car, would it make it go faster?

Here are some numbers.
Stock 235/45/17 are 25.33" tall and 9.25" wide
mine 225/40/17 are 24.09" tall and 8.86" wide
Others:
255/40/17 are 25.03" tall and 10.04" wide
265/40/17 are 25.35" tall and 10.43" wide (closest to stock it appears)
285/35/17 are 24.85" tall and 11.22" wide
shorter tire = better accell but hits limiter through traps, and kills MPH vs a taller tire that has less accel and higher mph.
I just looked at a different slip from july and i picked up 24.71 mph in the back half with 235/45/17 bald tires.

What if I told you that an evo with the same mods as you minus cams and 2psi less boost can trap 116.45 and gain 29.1 mph on the back half in a headwind?

I would first say i dont care. Then i would say, hey joe denardo, what was the speed of the headwind and how much did it ACTUALLY ****ing effect the drag coefficient of the car?
Then finally i would say, congrats on having a gutted car..
Then i would say, way to sandbag it to the 1/8th mile then actually run it the rest of the way. Then I would say, sounds like this punk cant launch the car for ****.
My car is fast enough for the circumstances. Car is only pushing 24 psi, and runs 11's all day. its making somewhere around 375whp on 93 octane at 24 psi... I just ordered new TB seals so im sure that will fix the extremely obnoxious boost leak coming from the throttle body...
so lets see some slips and some videos..
soo overall i say, i dont care.

oh, and I am thinking about stoping about 2 feet before the 1/8th mile marker next time im at the track.. I bet i pick up lets say.... 91 mph? holy **** that would be sick...
Start looking into evos and drag racing, say the drag racing threads...
AVERAGE evos pick up from 22 to 25 mph on the back 1/8th
IndyEVO just did 22.47 on his evo and another guy ran 25.24 mph in the back....
Start looking stuff up before you go saying things like "what if i said" because you look kinda dumb
