The orange is certainly eye catching, but it would certainly be too much for me.

i am entertaining the thought of going with a new turbo setup over winter.

could i get some opinions from you fine gentlemen (and lady)

hta86

or

s366

Im also considering a holset, but i've been told they usually require some fab work.

according to your sig you have a 35r? why not do the upgrade for like 500$

silly to go S366 at that point

that's the route i initially planned on going. however, i spoke with aniel at fp about upgrading my 35r to an hta variant and it seems as though the existing turbo has to be up to a certain level of specification for them to consider the upgrade.

so... that may be a possibility, but my 35 has some miles and some shaft play on it and they dont offer rebuilds on turbos that they didnt sell you. so the center cartridge would remain the same, it would just have a burly *** compressor wheel and a different cover

i may send my 35series out to fp this winter to have it looked at, but im not very optimistic.

something tells me im gonna have to dish out the $ for a new snail and all the honda guys are goin ape **** for the borg s series, figured id look at something different for the evo platform

You had mentioned a Holset earlier. IIRC, those were all the rave back in the day with older DSM guys. You dont hear much of them anymore though.

Because your friend bought a pile of custom junk. I know the car he bought, and i knew the guy that owned it prior. Good Luck to your friend. He will need a whole lot of it. And hopefully he doesnt get into a front end collision. Part of the front support on the front passenger side was cut to make room for that turbo.
