I think my stock turbo is dead. No power at all, and at about 2K rpm it starts making a really loud whining noise, and it gets louder as the RPMs go up. The sound is VERY loud. Has anybody heard of this?

Luckily this happened before I installed my ARC intake kit. I usually service my car at Boch Mitsubishi, but they're closing down. One of the techs who used to work there told me that Mitsubishi should cover the repairs under warranty, seeing that the only modification on my car is the exhaust.

I'm heading to the dealer next Friday. Hopefully the car will be ok.

I guess used cars are cheap for a reason.

 

Definitely sounds like the turbo. Probably the impeller wheel. We had an F350 in our shop with the same condition. If I'm up at the shop today I'll snap a picture of the turbo for you.

check to make sure you did not blow a inlet or outlet hose off the IC. It happens a lot.
