no not the same thing. If you let the thing breathe its a highway monster. Two of my friends have got them into the 450+whp range. More people are tuning these cars as they become more affordable and the market is slowly expanding.

The “bi” comes from Latin and means “two”. The “biturbo” designation in connection with Audi V engines signifies that two turbochargers have been installed, one for each bank of cylinders. The driver benefits from increased torque at the low end, more power at the upper end and improved engine response. Audi uses these advantages in the Audi RS 4, for example as well as in its competition cars (the Audi R8).

so twin is one bank of cylinders feeding 2 turbos sequentially (supra) while biturbo is (on a 6 cylinder) 3 cylinders feeding one turbo and 3 different cylinders feeding another turbo?

It's big money to make an S4 truly fast. I have one and it's really freakin expensive to make the jump from ~320hp (chip & catback $1400) to 400+hp (turbos, fueling, downpipes, etc $8-10K). Also, there's really no stop inbetween those two numbers. Then you get into the issues of poor suspension, brakes....

Both are just names of setups with two turbos.
"Twin Turbo" is English and can be used to describe sequential (turbos plumbed in series) and parallel (one turbo on each cylinder bank) setups.
"Biturbo" means the exact same thing, but is the German interpretation. It's typically used to describe European cars.
