I can have the badge off the car in 2 min or less. Take the clips that hold the top edge of the bumper off and use a stubby screwdriver. You don't even have to take off all of the clips, 2 of them is enough. I had the badges off of my 9 the say I bought it, but it doesn't look good w/o the front badge because of the bracket behind the badge. So I painted mine black and reinstalled it.

IMO if you paint the whole badge instead of just the chrome part it looks better, since the black color is more uniform.

maybe I have to take more clips out. I tried that, just saw that stubby screwdriver going down....was not in the mood for dealing with that
I agree though, it looks better with a black badge in there.
