Frustration with a local police officer
hello guyz,
I am just ranting here after getting a $320 ticket today for; 1) failure to present 2 plates $35 2) registration not in possession $35 3) excessive window tinting $250.
The reason that I got pulled over was I made a right turn when the light was yellow, which most cops ignore if they see regular cars doing that, especially doing it during rush hours here in Boston.
I am pissed. I can honestly say that I ALWAYS drive within speed limits and yield to other cars, etc, being a responsible driver. I do like speed and that's why I go to tracks for. I always manage to ignore other cars revving at me to get me going and I strongly condemn street-racing or any sorts of dangerous driving that could put other ppl's lives at danger on public roads.
This cop was a real dick. He clearly had something against jap sedans with big wings and red brake calipers. He even managed to put two huge scratches on my windows when he put that window-tint measure device on the car.
I was very polite to him entire time while I was being pulled over, addressing him as an "officer" when answering his questions that I never been asked before when pulled over such as "have you been arrested before?" or" Has your license been suspended before?".
A bad day... I guess.

That sucks to hear Sung. Are you appealing the ticket(s)? Definitely worth a shot if you have a good driving record.
How are things these days...have you been out of the country?

sorry to hear all this man, but yeah bad days do happen and for some reasons they happen to us (imports) alot more often. I had tint on all my windows on my previous car and once got pulled over and got tickets for tint, failure to show front plate, unclear rear plate, obstruted view and something else. the cop really had it in for me dat nite. All i can say is go to court, u probably won't get away completly but u might get some tickects dropped. In my case the judge laugh and "said ruff nite huh" i was like what thinking he was being smart but he actually dropped two of the tickects.

what kinda lawyer did u find thats gonna charge u 50 dollars. Last time i had to take a lawyer to court it was more like 1000 and it was only speeding 14 mph over the limit

My roommate got so pissed off at a cop for a similar ticket that he hired a personal investigator to find the cops house, and then burned a giant in his front lawn.
Maybe you should do the same.

^^^use fingernail polish remover (or anything with acetone). will work much better than alcohol. if you decide to remove tint anyway.....and ignorance of the law is no excuse. and how bad did he scratch the window? no matter what you did (short of endangering him) he doesnt have the right to damage your property.

Was this in lynn by any chance? There is a real dick of a cop who only pulls over imports. He got me 1 time for exhuast and not having my reg with me. I beat the reg charge but not the exhuast. The judge had a hard on for sticking that fine to me, I even had it inspected the day after with a pass for exhuast system.
Roll forward 3 months later. I also have a Grand National, not stock and not quite by any means. 3.5" dual exhuast after the cat with flowmasters, needless to say it gets attention pretty quick.
I had to take it to a tire shop to get 2 new tires mounted/balanced and driving down the main st I seen him getting into his police truck while he had a Honda pulled over, I thought I was going to get the pork sword this time, as I had just realized at that point I had not yet put the new reg sticker on the plate and still had the old reg receipt in the car.
That fat, goofy 4 eyed ***** did not even take a 2nd look. He seen me and the car, but did not care. I was lucky, if it was me Evo I am sure I would have gotten screwed.

anyways you live in mass, you didnt have the plates properly displayed, and you had tint, sure he was a dick, but you gave him a reason to be one.. you had 3 things wrong.. like he said, gotta pay to play... you drive an evo, you have a bullseye on you.. thats why i got rid of my red one, and got blue.. i never got tickets, but i didnt like the attention.. now i dont even get a look from a cop..
its amazing how people forget, you got tint, loud exhaust, no sticker, or something else, you are asking for trouble, this is america. you are not free to do what you want and get away with it... the quicker people relize this, the quicker they will find ways of not getting unwanted attention, getting tickets, and then complaining the cops are at fault..
instead of driving by a cop with a loud exhaust, but the car in neutral and idle when you go by... i have no cat and muffler, been through the whole east coast with my car and never got a ticket..
once people relize the way the game works, then they enjoy having a nice car...
