my roommates little bro said he was at westboro having his 30k done on his 05 SSL... and he said they had an MR for 44k sticker!

Paying $36-38 is not bad at all for an MR. It's just the options that can kill you. The VIII's & IX's did not have many options at all IIRC. Just pick the car (GSR, SSL, RS, MR, SE) and maybe wheel locks, wheels & ebrake, & side wind deflectors. There was no Nav or 650 watt stereo. So maybe it is not so bad afterall?
