Also, you run the risk of bead leakage as you constantly mount/dismount tires and you really don't want to be getting a flat in the evo.

Also, think of it this way:

You buy your snow tires and they arrive, now you pay $75 for mount and balance, then in the spring, $75 for mount and balance... that's $150 a year. You can pay for a set of winter rims in 2-3 years.

Also, tires are not going to take up less space than tires+rims. find a spot to stack them up in your apartment or bring them home to PA. It will be well worth the money. Trust me.

Plus, you can get a nice package with mount/balance for free so that when they show up, all you need to so is bolt them on. If you're uncomfortable doing the first changeover yourself, I can give you a hand.
I bought an extra set of wheels for Summer, and will be using stock wheels for Winter. I already purchased a set of Bridgestone Blizzak LM-22 Winter performance tires and they're sitting in my basement right now. This will be my first Winter with actual Winter tires. Hopefully it will be useful.

There's no escape from going to tires shop or dealership anymore for new cars because all new car got TPMS. Even though if you've 2 sets of TPMS sensor installed, you still need to visit a tires shop or dealership whenever you switch wheels/tires to get your TPMS system reset.

Now I have all kinds of issues. Before it was just Blizzak LM25 VS Dunlop Winter Sport 3D.

I'm pretty sure I went minus one size to a 225. I bought them 4 years ago so I don't remember exactly but I agree with Turco, going a size down if you can.

you should try to pick up some stock GSR wheels. Or if you want to get summer wheels get GSR wheels, put winters on them and sell your stockers.

Not true! I've reset the TPMS system on both of my parents' vehicles (one dodge, one infiniti) on multiple occasions. All you need is a magnet for those systems, and I am sure that mitsu's system works the same way. I'd do some searching for the procedure, if I were you, beacuse I bet you can just do it at home in your driveway.

I forgot about the need to buy more TPMS sensors, though. That's LAME! and it will certainly increase your cost to more than just cheap rims. I still think it's worth it though...

I have the EVO x FSM if anyone needs it.

Actually it looks like the lancer FSM but most of the stuff carries over.

i just run the stock size... 235/45/17

my understanding is that thinner is better for the winter (atleast in the snow)

How to reset TPMS sensors?

The TPMS sensors for my Mitsubishi Lancer is $51 dollars each @ Tire Rack, and they're OEM because each box are stamped with Mitsubishi Logo on it.
