Yeah saturday i should be doing brakes on my brothers car most of the day but maybe in the afternoon if i finish. I really want to take some pics though.

**** i wish i had found this area earlier. Im not as close as you guys are but im in RI with a Evo I dont drive ill have to keep updated so when it does come out i can see what you guys are up to.

oh man that sucks. I was just reading another thread where someone posted their abysmal Al tune. Mikie says, "his tunes makes baby evos cry."

Dex, i think we are going to be tuning the evo a bit tonight. I will let you know how it goes. I really need a DP so i can get a bung welded in for a WB.

Dave, we need to get your wideband logging - before you get a different tune. I wanna trace AFR's on and off load. that'll tell me how bad Als tune is.

Cause Dave's car is making decent power - with zero knock. I'm under the impression that Al's tunes aren't that bad, just half assed. I don't even mind block tuning honestly - but the fact that he messed with open loop etc, and uses the fuel map to compensate for everything pisses me off.

block tuning? is that what it's called when you set the map to the same value?

we should just go back to the days of distributor caps.

i'll take a look at your car after i get a grasp on things. your evo ecus are fubar'ed compared to the subaru ones. my motor may be flat and funny, but your ecu is a clusterf......

ever see al's technique to scaling injectors. You should check this out (this kid is running 1000cc injectors):

you can't even put values leaner than 14.7 in the subaru fuel maps......

yeah Evo ECU's arent really spot on with the fuel - its more of a scalar that closely resembles an a/f ratio. the closer you have the injector scaling - the closer the fuel map is to the actual a/f. Also stock injectors are actually bigger than what is used in the ECU. we don't actually have run 513cc/min injectors stock. so when calculating duty cycle - you have to remember that 100% is really only 100% on a 513cc/min injector.


Al just took that scalar thing to a whole new level.
