We are not worried. As the reasons for purchase in 1999 was for the safety advancements engineered by Volvo. Ford wanted them, so they bought us We are all hoping that the swedish govt can influence Volvo to buy back their car division (fingers crossed).
For example, our new XC60 due out soon has a standard feature called "city-safety" which the vehicle will brake on its own if it approaches anything/anyone to rapidly...ie: at speeds less than 9mph the vehicle will stop on its own. Between 9-18 mph, the vehicle applies 50% braking capacity to advance the stop prior to collision (It works, I got to try it). Basically designed for the idiots who text and use their lappy's and drive in city traffic you will see this same feature in Ford cars, but the technology will be 'labeled' something else. I could probably name a dozen Volvo 1st's for safety that made it into Fords division cars.
