Alright, im kinda in a tough spot right now. Basically, Im 19 and I've been under my parents health insurance but due to the fact that I worked at night for almost a whole year I made too much money for them to claim me and now I'm stuck without health insurance and I really can't afford the health insurance offered by my company because its almost $300 a month. Well, I can but then that leaves me practically no money for myself. Does anyone here have health insurance through someone other than your employer? because I need to find a relatively cheap health insurance plan. I wish I didn't need health insurance but being in the construction industry, you'll never know when you need it.

i know people who have and it has been about $300 a month. plan to pay $250-300 privately.

I worked full time during school as well and had to get my own insurance. But since I was full time, it was $30 per week, which is obviously better then $300/month. Are you close to enough hours to become a full time employee?

I work full time but paying for the Evo and Insurance takes up alot of my money. I work for a small electrical company that employs about 40 people. They pay half of out health insurance but it's still pretty expensive and the rates go up like every other month.

I understand. I'm not gonna get rid of the Evo because I've paid off about half of it so if I really need to, I'll go without health insurance and then wipe out my savings to pay the car off. I really don't want to but if I'm left with no options, I guess that's what I'll do. Or I could always try to refinance the car but IDK...

Yea you do. If you don't I believe they'll fine you once you file your taxes for that year. If I'm not mistaken it can go up to $1,000 if you had no health insurance for the entire year of 2008. Who knows if it'll go up for 2009.

I disagree, if i was living at home with a decent income the car would be close to paid off. Not having rent + house bills FTMFW.
