Most ACD problems on the IX's occur when people don't bleed the ACD correctly after doing a clutch/tranny/transfer case swap.

I have read numerous issues with the pumps failing from 30-50k miles. The pumps seem to fail even on stock clutch. They are typically covered under warranty without issue, makes me think mitsu knows something is up.

Not as common as some speculate it to be. And I doubt Mitsu gives a rat **** about it. My guess is like what Tiago stated. Poor technical work done at time of service.
Do what I do, just spit on the hole(s).......it's way more classy
