On a seperate note im a little confused as to how the whole map switching would work. Obviously I would have a pump map and then a separate E85 map. So say I had a little bit of left 93 in my tank. I then go fill up with Ethanol and flip the switch. Does the tank really need to be drained? I have seen that most cases where people convert to E85 they get an initial tune and then retune a week or two later after clearing out the tank and filling with 100% ethanol. Typically a little more power is squeaked out from the car. What im getting at is the question as to whether its possible to safely run both 93 and E85?
For your situationi would just have the car tuned for E-85, use that timing/fuel/injector map for one map and the 93 tables for the alt map. You have to be conservative tuning e-85 as like mikie said it can vary in octane (ethanol content).
one of the ecu gurus is building a patch to allow for a flex-fuel sensor so it would interpolate and offset to fueling and timing depending on ethanol content.

After reading my post over I feel that I worded it poorly. I understand that E85 is theoretically 85% ethanol but can fluctuate just like gasoline. My main concern is the ability for it to operate more like a flex fuel vehicle would. Assuming I were to alternate stations between fill-up and not have to worry about it. Having a station relatively nearby for those special times in the car is very tempting.
It seems like optimal solution would be with the use of a ethanol content sensor. But until then, on a conservative tune how safe would a rotation between E85 and 93? However if I were to make the switch when the gas light comes on instead of completely draining the tank? I always try to get gas before my light comes on however if I dont I get it right when the light goes on. I feel like I could at least kept that variable under control.

i think due to availability it isn't worth the headache honestly. Don't get me wrong, i would love to have it more available. I would run it in a heartbeat if i could readily get it.

Unfortunately I would have to agree with you. Just thought it was interesting to see new stations developing in the state. Hopefully more will continue to pop up in the area. Ill keep my fingers crossed. In the mean time we still get to turn up the boost on my car so thatll be fun. PM sent.
