I dont think we know the premise of the thread. What questions are you addressing? I dont think people use nasioc to find reason, just *****, complain, and find ways to inevitably blow their motor up.

basically people were arguing over whether or not to use particular tables in the ecu. the factory does a horrible job at the tuning because they need to hit particular emissions goals.

someone was saying that if you didn't use these additional timing tables, you couldn't make as much power (which is BS since whatever timing curve you run will dictate that), but people kept insisting that the factory tune was better and that if they used the additional tables, everyone should.

that's why i cited the ford pinto (which exploded when it got rear ended) and how ford knew it was a liability, but chose to deal with the issues on a case-by-case basis rather than fixing the car since in their financial models was cheaper. ie- sometimes companies do not have your best interest in mind when they make a decision.
