im not sure yet if we are going to the lotus factory or not. i am going to call up tomorrow to find out more. apparently they have tours every weds. we might spend the whole day travelling and visiting lotus weds (head to lotus, check it out, then head to birmingham). the plan now is to rent a car to get to birmingham in

dex i read this the other day. I dont understand why people are so impressed with Lucas's car, yes it has the stock turbo and yes it made 500hp. He is also using e85 and has EVERY POSSIBLE MOD YOU COULD DO TO MAKE POWER OTHER than a turbo INCLUDING 10:1 compression which negates needing a big turbo. I mean he probably has 10-15k of power mods. All you are doing with bigger cams is delaying spool and creating top end, if that is what you want do it. I still think anything bigger then an S2 will ruin street driveability but i dont have any empirical data to support that other then the fact that we have a no low end torque 2.0.
in any case, for a higher compression motor, you generally need a bigger turbo- that's why his power band drops off so much. higher compression -> higher VE -> needs more flow to keep up with motor.

really because you have less volume to fill up to make similar cylinder pressures, right? i see what you are saying about top end but # to # wise you can still use a smaller turbo. I know the sentra guys love to use the UK 10:1 motors and toss a t25 or t28 on there and make very high torquey high power.
