8 EVO VS WRX/STI shootouts. Racewaypark Englishtown, NJ. 8 events..one race season!!

Hello everyone ! I was just on racewayparks website. There are 8 Evo/Sti shootouts during this season ! Well it appears to me that each one is a mini evo/sti shootout until September 21 im guessing. Each event before September 21 is "street muffled". I remember some people having trouble with inspection before. September 21 is on a sunday and i think there are no regulations as far as exhaust goes. Now i have something to do after work on Friday ! Maybe we can start having monthly meets/gatherings there ! I know im posting really early but i just found this weird. anyway i'll start compiling a list for attendees/racers for each date. just let me know if your racing/spectating. leave a message here or pm me. i'll add more spots to the list if it gets filled. thanks

I am glad they put the actual shootout on sunday cause that pissed me off that a lot of shop cars couldn't come. This year will be different

^true. and the weathers not going to be as bad in september than in august. i remember how freaking scorching hot it was in the stands. Now AMS wont have trouble running either. i remember last year they had to run "exhibition" only. THey didnt have an easy time getting the officials to let them run either. Indeed, this year will be different. I kinda like the idea of the "mini" shootouts on friday too. Gives some of us something to do.

Count me in. I'm going to make it as many times as I can. Im going to be getting an MR in June. How do I get into racing it? New to this whole tuner/race world so bear with me. Its going to be a daily driver but I definitely want to hook it up and race it at a track if possible. Raceway seems like the only one within an hour that has a drag strip and going to be having a road course soon. What are some basics I need to know about this?

when launching, slip the clutch, don't drop it. Dropping it = bye bye

Im getting the SST so that would be tough. I think all you have to do it hold down the brake, rev up then release brake and off you go. Probably much easier on the poor clutch then manual but not sure how much faster it is if any.
