Anything and everything... Its a rally car. Its not a question of if it will break... its a question of when.. lol.. Suspension/steering parts, body parts, engine parts.. pretty much anything you are looking to get rid of / want out of your garage/shed/closet/bathtub.

well guys, another connecticut EVO bites the dust. spun bearings suck!! replaced the road bearings in hopes as a fix until i can afford to get the block built. it works but i dont know for how long. i dont want to take any chances. so the evo will be parked in the garage and collecting dust for 2009.....or until i can afford another short block with internals. anybody have a spare evo i can use in the mean time?...lol

wait..what? You were just trying to bearing slap it after the spin? You didnt turn/replace the crank, or do any machine work?

no i didnt bearing slap it.... i started to hear a slight chatter (like valves) on deceleration when gearing down but from the lower end. but you could only hear it from inside the car...barely. i put it on the lift and opened up the bottom end assuming spun bearings. when we pulled the bearings out, cylinder 1 had some light scoring on the coating that began to wear off. 2, 3, and 4 were normal for wear. overall, it looked like something contaminated the oil and caused it. while the bearings were out and engine apart, why put back in old bearings. so i had some ACL bearings that were put in so that i could get the car home. hence the statement "...the EVO will be parked in the garage and collecting dust..." i knew i was getting the crank and associated internals redone. but since i dont know how long until then....parked up. bearings were only put in since we were already in there(from the bottom) to get the car 12 miles to my house. once i put it all back together though, i slight joy touched me as i turned the key and the chatter was gone. it sounded normal again. so i will bring the car home tomorrow and start my search for a built block or a stock one to work with. what was done is a band aid to get the car home and prepped for the work to come.

bearing slap?.........bwaaa......anybody know if AMS does military discounts on built short blocks?
