Angry NYS Troopers' Undercover car!!

Anyone from the NYS Rockland County area beware: I just got pulled over today on the Palisades Parkway by the NYS Troopers in GUESS WHAT? A dark green Ford Taurus with dark tints The story goes like this: I get off work in NYC Manhattan, cross the GWB onto the Palisades at 5:20 p.m. and it's the usual Friday 5:30 traffic bumper to bumper at 65 mph with not more than 2ft. distance between cars, so you cant do more than 65 even in an EVO. I did notice the Taurus was behind me since exit 3, anyone who does not know the trick to ID most unmarked Police vehicles behind you (they have a bright orange EZ pass on their windshield) next thing I know as I am approaching exit 6 in Orangeburg, there is a Marked State Trooper waiting on the right shoulder, just as we pass, the marked unit pulls me over along with the Taurus. To try and shorten this story, the troopers speak behind my car for about 3-4 min. The trpr from the marked car comes over and asks me for my paperwork, and notices I am in uniform, I am a Transit Authority Operator in the city. He then asks me "How is your CDL license?" I answer "perfect, why? what did I do?" He says that the Taurus behind me said I passed them at 78 mph in a 50 back at exit 3 Citgo gas station on the Palisades. I blew thru the roof, and said who the hell can do 78 in this bumper 2 bumper Friday traffic at 5:30 on the 2 lanes as congested as they are right now? And I asked who they were, thats when one got out and SURE enough a uniformed state trooper. They did not even say a word to me and that made me even more suspicious, the marked unit trpr asks me is that muffler stock? its pretty loud. I have the Vishnu exh. and its 1 of the quietest exh. I ask them getting back to why u r pulling me over, "Why didn't they pull me over back at exit 3 then?" He interjects and says he has no reason to make up a story of me speeding past them. I say I never said that, but why are you just waiting for us to pull up way up at Exit 6, if they are troopers and they say I was speeding, then they would not need you to be doing all the talking. At that point they all head back to their cars, the Taurus drives off, and here comes jerky with summons in hand 15 min. later , telling me that I can plead not guilty and go to court to see what can be done?.WTF is that supposed to mean? NO SH@$ sherlock. Not only will I plead not guilty, but I also want proof from the Taurus which I did not notice any radar equipt. in. which somehow was able to dissect an EVO in a traffic pack of cars doing 65 and follows it for 3 more exits waiting to find a marked unit to back him up? I believe these guys were on their way back from some detail in the city( Prez was in town today) and thought I was some 20yr old pimple face in an EVO, and decided to try and break some b@%%$. You should have seen the look when they saw my old a$$ in a uniform sitting there coming home from work. Anyways guys sorry for the super long story, damn I just realized how much I wrote, SORRY. But I know a few EVO-NY guys who fly on the Palisades quite often (YEAH U TOO Paul MR. RC ) So be on the lookout just in case this thing was not a fluke, but I will definitely find out once we meet in court.............

had a similar situation happen on my way to work at starbucks EARLY one morning last year. at about 5 am, i'm making my commute with practically NO ONE on the road. i'm not a morning person, so i'm cruising the speed limit, listening to some quite music. as i merge onto an EMPTY road (436/semaron in orlando) this car comes FLYING up behind me. i was thinking at first, they had to be drunk or just an *** to drive like that. once he gets on my bumper, i realize its a cop. i continue to get into the double left hand turn lane, and he balks to go around me, but then pulls back behind me REAL close (to read my tags). we sit at the light for a minute, then get the green... TWO MILES LATER (4 lights) he flicks the rollers on... i'm thinking WTF?!

long story short, he tries to feed me all kinds of BS, saying i was speeding (no gun to prove) that i didn't signal changing lanes (not only did i but you don't have to in florida when no-one is near you, and no one was at 5 am!) and then gets mad and says i was arguing with him. wrote me a ticket after talking with another unit that rolled up, said the whole "you can contest this" nonsense, and i said "oh you can be sure i will!"

why did this happen? for me, i think it was because it was the end of the month, and i have a modified lancer. guy was just trying to make the quota. asshat.

There's far worse.

I know near Worcester, MA, there's a modified Honda Civic with the whole "street-tuned" look to it. MA also has a few Dodge Vipers that are used to clamp down on street racers, and double as absolutely vicious pursuit cars.

Yo 4banga - what's up man.
What a drag.
Isn't there something in NY about an unmarked not being "allowed" to pull over cars.
Guess he had to wait for a patrol car to come along.

Mike, wassup Dude? I'm trying to find that out myself. Because they were behind me a good amount of miles just cruisin behind me at 65, we never made it past MAYBE 68 tops, if u know the Palisades, u know what its like at rush hour no one gives up an inch, where u r is where u stay. Unless ur a bean head an cut and squeeze in...........We'll see, but damn I'm pissed , I'm a commercial driver for over 17 years and have never had a moving violation, and I've had some DAMN FAST street cars to play with, along with a **** load of quick bikes too. I buy a RICEY looking car after having 6 DSMS and I get my first ticket EVER!!!...........Hey, and say hello to MIKES DAD

Wow, Mr. Rasputin come down to NYC and see for yourself how quick "The Prez is in town" gets spread around everytime a bunch of VIP's are being driven around with the almighty NYPD escorts, blocking up the whole rotten apple and causing gridlock everywhere. But I was in the middle of it in my big double sloppy slinky bus sitting going no where for an hour and that's all I kept hearing "the prez is in town" They should have specified that the town was ROME..............HEEHEEHEE!!!!!!!!

Yeah the Palisades suck in the morning and at night. The troopers hide all over the place. I see them all the time when I'm headed towards Haverstraw or Nyack. Thank God for radar.

I hear u man, that is not what pissed me off . It's just that I know they just cruised behind me and wanted to stop me for one reason or another, I dont really know why but I was not doing 78, nobody was able to.....I would have just loved to hear it from the guys in the unmarked, let THEM tell me I was speeding and show me at least a radar in the car, they just kicked back there behind my car and the marked car then pulled off without sayin a word..........thats what put me over the edge, but whatever

Erick, I'm in Stony Point Dude. The marked cars are always hounding the PIP at rush hour. I work rotating shifts so I am on there at every imaginable hour you can think of from rush hour to 3 am hours too......

not true...

In NYC cops be driving around in street tunned cars... especially Auto-Crime.
Sometimes you have the crown vic's, the taxi cabs... all type of stuff here.

I got pulled over once, by a civic, believe it or not. He didn't flash lights or anything, he just pulled besides me, lowered the window, and i saw their uniforms and they told me to pull over.

Some are lazy like that, and just point at you, to show you their power ( of pulling ur **** ova )
