You won't be disappointed, the grip is amazing on ice. Mine are w70 models, if you get a chance watch the YouTube video for them.

Blizzacks are nice studless winter tires, but studded tires still outperform on ice and snow. However, Blizzacks will outperform most studded tires on dry pavement. Personally, I prefer ice & snow performance.

For a studded tire, Nokian Hakkapeliitta 7 are still rated the best in winter by the leading Scandinavian tire testers.

Regardless of what type of tire you get, I would also suggest going as narrow as possible. As opposed to summer tires, where a wide footprint equals more traction, a narrow footprint in winter is preferable because our cars are not very heavy and a narrower tire will bite into the snow better. A higher profile tire will also give you a little more ground clearance which is always good for clearing the ice & snow ruts on some roads.

Gotta start putting away money for some huge parts. Hoping to have Skunk2 intake manifold, Full Blown throttle Body, and Buschur brake booster delete kit by New Years.

There's a guy from Fairbanks that's got the manifold and throttle body, he's suppose to be headed to anchorage before to long. I always wanted to upgrade them on my car but they are expensive.

I thought about doing the JMF Race manifold but I like the OEM-ish look of the Skunk2. STM is doing a deal for the Skunk2 IM and Full Blown TB with porting the intake manifold for the 70mm TB for $995 shipped.

Sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me! Should help the car breath a little better.

Actually, I find Blizzaks to be quite a bit better than studs in everything but glare ice. And really, nothing works well on glare ice.

I don't like how loud studs are either and I don't like paying taxes unless I absolutely have to.

+1 for the blizzaks, studs are pointless if you have the blizzies.

As a side note, finally broke something on my car, looks like a seal in the clutch slave cylinder but I won't know until I get it in the air tomorrow.

Thanks for all of the input on the tires. Sounds like Blizzaks are the popular choice. I'll let you guys know what I decide.
