Anyone going out to the track this weekend to check out the Speed Channels Pass Time? I think I may go out Saturday and Sunday with the X for some fun.

Anyone have a OP 2.0 cable they're willing to part with?

Debating between getting back into an 06 MR or an 04 STI.

I'm assuming you're talking about that one with 112k+ miles?

Way too many miles for my taste.

Probably better off going to that 05 STi which used to be mine many years ago. I normally would be encouraging the Evo but because you wanted a STi before..you might as well go for one now. With that said the STi is heavily modded, not much further to go with it..so could get boring.

I agree. The sti does have 100k on the body though. I still would have some plans for it, along with replacing some of the aftermarket parts on the build.

With all that being said, I made an offer but he's gonna see if the guy before me can buy it tmw. If not, ill have a buyers inspection done on it and go from there.

I wish I would have bought a 100k mi car and paid bottom dollar for it. As long as the car is in good shape and straight any thing else can be replaced pretty cheaply. If you plan to build the **** out of it thats the perfect car. I figure if you wanted a comfortable car you'd get another X.

What was the deal with that car? How much hp was it running and how was the drive with that hp and the sst?

As far as I've been told by Seth, the guy is moving out of state and wanting to get rid of it. I think the tune is somewhat laid back as well, could go a little further. That STi is on it's 3rd or 4th motor/rebuild currently so it's been driven fairly hard. I don't even recall Seth telling me if it's been on the rollers or not for what's currently on the car. Mostly that the guy just tuned it himself.

I would definitly get in contact with Seth for more history on the vehicle for the past 3+ years. With that said I probably suggest taking it for an inspection at Underground, Continental or Element instead. Just so you get a unbias opinion on the condition. Don't get me wrong I don't think he'll steer you the wrong way but he's still a friend and sometimes...well... friends can be friends.

As for the Evo I have no idea on it's history but it's a very good asking price for the miles. Just depends on the overall condition. Though considering that Evo_Ak wasn't too happy with his 5speed IX,(his friends drive subies iirc) I don't think he'll be happy getting in a 6speed IX with more mileage. I do agree if well taken care of that it can still go places but it's an Evo... how many are actually "taken care of?" lol...

Don't buy an sti. The values of the IX are rising rapidly and even 100k miles is not that bad. Its got another 100k togo and iI bet you build it before then anyways.

Didn't you already have a evo? If you sold it once, why go back to the same thing, might as well do something different, but if you're planning on building to your specs, just grab whichever is cheaper if you're going to rip it apart and build it. Personally I don't buy the same car twice, doesn't really add up unless its a significant change from the previous model year, say going from a 8 to a x, not a 8 to a 9.

Yea I don't see a good reason to go from a 5speed IX to a 6Speed IX.. especially after buying parts and selling them all off. Going from an 8 to 9 mivec or even a X is undestandable... but why do a downgrade in condition and overall performance.

The Subie community is large here, easy to find 2nd hand parts and support. So it makes sense that if someone has friends in the subie world they'd like to be apart of it. Plus we could use some faster subies in AK... out of everyone that showed up last Wednesday ... only 1 ran a mid 12 and another mid 11... everyone else 13 - 18s... it's sad really.

First time hitting the track ever. 13.7 was my best time.

Was definitely fun.

Yeah everyday. But I think I'm gonna start driving my civic to work. Just to keep the car cleaner and stop racking the miles on it.
