it throws me because part of the straightaway is the quarter mile drag that I've been down many times.
Portland's housing market is climbing very fast. The next market they say to start climbing like that is Spokane's. Kinda sucks.

Yea portland is a very nice place to live in. As far as weather, the last few years our summers have been really good. We have 2 huge malls and the one in clackamas is getting remodeled. I do wish our downtown was a tad bigger but im happy with it. Overall Ptown is a great place to settle down.

Whenever I got to Seattle I realize how much I like Portland. You got surf and snow, PDX is a hour or so to Mt. Hood, and 1.5 hours to the coast.
When I get out of the USCG I'll end up in Portland.

I love portland and really want to live here the rest of my life. As for the job market... I am graduating from college (WSU) in dec. and am having problems finding something, but we all know the economy sucks right now, even though its on its way up its still not great...anyone have suggestions for a job?

06evofiji -portland sucks *** for anyone with an IT related degree, unless you did a double major with something like project managment.
OP - If you do move down here, look at anywhere that is NOT in multnomah (sp?) county. just one more extra income tax to pay. Vancouver is a good option as well as Washington, clackamas, and Columbia counties. If you move out as far as Jim Patterson, St. Helens has no DEQ inspections, so modding is much easier to get away with

She said because of this though she wasn't sure how much she REALLY wanted to live there; they like more of a fast paced life style. They said everyone is really into sports and the outdoors...
They reason i keep bringing up my Aunt and Uncle on this subject is because like i said they have lived all over the world, and right now live in New Zeland; and ultimately they want to settle permenantly in Portland (they think). So that kind of shows how good of a place it is.
