Roll Cages(prices posted)

does anyone want a roll cage?

i have been talking to a few people while stuck in iraq and if we can get enough folks together we can get a great deal on some cages from autopower.

Street- $369.95
Race- $479.95
Optional bolt in cross brace- 79.95
Street Sport- 449.95
Bolt in- $829.95
U-Weld- $379.95

here is the link:
http://www.autopowerindustries.com/Roll_Bars.htm
http://www.autopowerindustries.com/Roll_Cages.htm
and here is the application guide:
http://www.autopowerindustries.com/Application_List.htm

this isnt even a sure deal ( yet ) so no body flip out or nothing i just wanna gauge some intrest and see if this is worth going foward or if i should just drop this right here and not worry about it.

the only thing the guy told me is that i have to figure out and have the cash for the cages before 1 january. cause there is gonna be some kind of price change after then.

if any is intrested LMK

james

If you could get them to make a cage for the 97+ Mirage I would drop money on payday (Friday) but they dont have an application for me so I'm burnt.

I imagine your gonna have a hard time simply cause a cage tends to take away from the comfort of a road car and seeing that most people on here use their car as their DD it really would be a big hassle for those who dont do serious racing where a cage would be desired or required.

I'd like a "street-sport" roll bar, but I'm not sure if I want to buy another bolt-in that's not custom fitted. I spent $700 on a bar from TC Designs and it didn't fit, so I ended up with a very expensive paper weight in my garage.

i know most people use there cars for DD's and the limit of most is harness bars. i am being told these are like the sparco ones where the seat belts can bolt back on so in that case is is removable if you want something for a track only purpose. and to ralph i have seen a auto power in person in a evo and it fit quite well. the only time where it wont work is if you have the SSL package. the sun roof makes the roof a bit lower so it wont fit with out creasing the head liner.

that's the catch - the MR's aluminum roof has thicker cross bracing on top than the steel roof, so the headliner sits lower. If it fits on a sun-roof car it will likely fit on the MR, but the bar I previously bought was made for a no sun-roof car and thus did not fit on the MR without rubbing / squishing the **** out of the headliner.

we bought our rollbar from autopower
they sent us one that didnt fit, it was abotu 7in shorter than the roof
we think they sent us one for an eclipse and just heard mitsubishi when we ordered.
I would make sure they know which one you want so this doesnt happen o you also.

a full cage huh?? well if all goes well over here it should be a fun race...
ralph,
to just finished my e mail, and the guy said the thing that dosent fit on the sun roof models is the controls. i gues they hang just a lil too low. he assured me that they fit in MR's without a problem. he also told me i need to get like 10 folks to get this going. so dave if you want to upgrade and save a few bucks now is the time.
