Clutch Replacement in Seattle area
Hi guys, this is Dmitry. I've met some of you at Tacoma meet a while back ... I have a grey ix mr.
My clutch is going out.
I need to get an aftermarket clutch+flywheel for street, capable of 400whp. Can you please post some suggestions on the shop that does quality work at reasonable prices? (Seattle area).
Thanks,
-Dmitry

West Werks: www.wwerks.com. They had a $400 flat rate special on clutch work for Evos which is still on as far as I know.
They work on a bunch of Evos in this particular part of the woods (including mine).

Wow they raised it $200 I can't recall exactly what Lucas charges but its somewhere around $450 and I doubt he has raised it much since he's pretty damn good at it. But then again you have to factor in the drive. As far as aftermarket clutch is really is more dependant on how you drive and if you launch alot. Daily driven a bolt on stock turbo I believe the Exedy STG1 with their flywheel cant be beat. Its like driving a stock one almost but like 40% more clamping force. If you upgrade the turbo or hit the dragstrip alot it probably wont last that long though. Another alternative for the MR is the non HD Exedy twin disk. Its a little more livable on the street over the HD and can handle 400whp all day long. Just cost over $1k

I am $450 for a non ACD 5spd. Was going to raise my rates but my guys are so fast now I would feel wrong to raise them.
I have done a few Exedy Stage 2 with surfaced stock flywheels and they shift and work well.
I find guys who launch alot will burn up a organic disc fast and they don't take mistakes will like cerametallic discs do.
Even though a 3 Puck Sounds harsh its not bad at all.

How much clutch chatter and harshness is there with a Exedy STG 2 clutch? When it comes time for a clutch I want something smooth but can handle around 380-400whp...I don't hit the dragstrip though so I wont need a massive clutch. I try to keep my evo as livable as possible

I have the exedy stage 2 in now, it has some chatter but not bad. My old act had no chatter though I thought the exedy would help out my shifting over the act but it was actually just the evo transmission for the loss. Thats why I have a shep trans now.
