hks 272s

I would say with labor, cams.and the rest of what Lucas is saying about $1500-$1700. A clutch would be next on the list

I think they are 272s but I did not put them in so I really don't know. They don't sound near as lumpy as 280s.

On stock turbo I find E85 worth a good 70hp.

What's this do to your mpg?
I think without the rod bolts, cams, and head studs you will be a little less than 400 hp. However, $900 for two maps and an additional 70 hp is pretty good considering most tuners will charge $300 for a reflash. Oh and E85 costs less but your mpg goes down. I figured it out before and E85 costs about 5% more based on estimates of mpg provided by people running E85. However, Lucas indicated he can get up to 23 mpg on E85 if you are cruising which if true for the rest of us should make this cheaper at the pump than standard gas.

I will be doing this for sure when E85 is more available.

Lucas, do you agree with this? If so, I might be ready to make the switch.

my current mods on my IX MR are a cat back borla, enjen intake, mbc from you and a tune from you that took me to 285hp/300 ftlb tq.

Any reliability issues with this? I'm still technically under warranty.

Things to think and know

-Since we dont go E70 around here it can be a 4-10 shot in starting on the 1st start of the day.
-Unless you get your own flash cable you are stuck on it at all times. Only 4 stations in Portland.

I like doing rod bolts once close to 400whp.

So far we have yet to see a motor get damaged on E85. My Evo has had the hardest 12k on E85 then any car I have ever owned with no major problems yet.

Most Dealers will void your Warranty with the mods you all ready have. I Would think E85 I should void your Warranty for sure.

Woah, that power from the stock turbo is incredible!

So, there are 4 stations with e85 in Portland? Are there anymore in outlying areas? If anyone could post up some e85 stations around the area, that'd be awesome. Thanks for this thread and info Paul and Lucas, it is much appreciated!

So that last post was from my iPhone while I was watching a boring movie with some friends, and now that I'm at my computer I actually searched and answered my own question as far as stations with E85...

http://e85vehicles.com/e85-Oregon.htm

I'm guessing those are the 4 in the Portland area... Anyone know of any other options? Thanks again for the thread

I found one station 10 minutes from Hillsboro, in Cornelious.
There are 8 in total.

Bumping this old thread because I like it so much and am always reading it just for fun, but was there a TBE on this car that wasn't mentioned? It does sound pretty quiet in the video, but those numbers seems unlikely on the stock exhaust.

Thanks for the update Lucas. I'm really liking what I am seeing. If you don't mind maybe I'll come check you out when I am out there next month.

Was that test piped or catted?

That was a LOT quieter than my ETS 3" straight through...
