Evo 8 & STi pricing in Beaverton Or.
I was in Beaverton for business about a week ago and on Canyon road they have a Mitsubishi dealer and a Subaru dealer about 10 blocks apart from each other. I was stunned as I drove by the Mits. dealer to see 8! evo's on the lot every color but blue. They wanted $10,000 over. they have a separate tag saying market price $10,000 so the total of the car is just over $40K. I drove past the Scooby dealer and a balck STi with gold wheels was on a display I was surprised to see one. So I pulled in with my Evo and of course a salesmen rushed over to me. The guy was pretty clueless he was not even sure what I had asked if I was happy with it cause he would cut me a deal for the STi well i walked up to the STi retial was $32K market value $8K total just over $40K. hhmmm I swear there is a secret club between the two. I scolded the guy on the BS markups he mostly just took it then I told him I payed a bit over list understandably around here in Wa. they flew for a little just over MSRP. He finished by saying well we could deal on the mark up. WOW like selling a car at full retail isnt good enough that is BS. Well When I went the Mitsu dealer no one even came up to me and I stood around for a bit checking out the cars no wonder they have 8 on the lot.

They've had those same cars sitting on that lot for over a month. Last time I was up there they had the same 8 cars you probably saw--and that was 3 weeks ago! I think they've had a few ad cars for $28,999 but the rest just hang out, waiting for the sales manager to realize no one is gonna pay dealer markup. But who can talk, the mitsu dealership here in Eugene has had the same yellow evo on their showroom floor for at least three months. And that's the only one they've had at all.

Beaverton Mitsubishi are some of the worst old-school style car sales people in the city. I went to see them and laughed all the way off the lot and bought my Evo elsewhere (the same day I might add). I buy my oil filters there though. HAHAHA! So, they are getting that business.

Carr Subaru Blows goats. Don't buy a car from them unless its near free.
And yes if you want a STi at MSRP you can get one. I got mine shortly after they came out for MSRP w/o even being on a waiting list before I started calling around. Sure I had to drive 200 miles one way to pick the thing up.....

I looked at the STI at Carr Subaru. And yes, $40K+. The Salesman said I couldn't drive it but he would take me out in a WRX. So we took a WRX out with 11 miles on it. The Salesman (Mohammed) started out driving and ran the **** out of it. Redline and dumping the clutch for some 4-wheel scratch. What a way to treat a fine piece of Engineering! Anyway, he drove the car to and above redline for the few miles, even missed a shift and then let me drive it. I didn't abuse the car at all. When we got back to the Dealership, he said "what do you think?". I said I think if I buy a WRX, I'd like to take delivery from teh Convoy truck. Some poor sap will end up with the WRX he thrashed on.

Hahah how to tell a guy has never driven a STi... he thinks a ride in a WRX is comparible to a STi.
Hmm I own(ed) a 03 wagon and a 04 STi, with the 03 wagon having all the toys including more than 300 crank HP.
No comparison between the two. Both fast and great handling but completely different approches to doing so.
Then lets just say a stock WRX != my wagon and leave it at that.

Yeah, that Beaverton dealer has had those cars forever it seems. They've been asking that $10,000 markup eversince they got their first three cars back at the beginning of the year. A couple of fools paid it back then, but they're having a hard time pawning them off now.
I've heard that they'll actually sell the cars for MSRP, but only if you work them over a bit. They just keep the 10K second sticker on there for rich/stupid people who don't know any better. Lame

Well to keep my story short. Im looking for an Evo. I am only 20 years old but I have good enough credit to get one. I go in to Ray Reece and I am dealing with the sales manager, not sure of his name though it was a while ago. I sat down and I told him I wont offer him more than 30k on his car which is fair because Beaverton Mitsu was going to sell it to me for that. He said "an Evo for 30k? You must be crazy kid!" I pointed out to him first off that I may only be 20 but I am not a kid and I dont appreciate him stereotyping me. He told me that there is no way they would sell it to me for that. Well I was through with them after that. I walked around that show room for 15 minutes seeing if anyone would confront me or try to sell me a car. NOT ONE PERSON came up to me or offered to help the whole time! I took my buisness to Dick Hannah then who set me up with a good deal on an Evo and they were great guys. I get a free tank of gas from them and they call me all the time to ask how I like the car. I had a bad experience with Rey Reece, just because I'm 20 doesn't single me out from buying this car.

Evo VIII Chris, I guess it's just who you get to deal with. Hannah played enough games with me over the phone that I didn't think "it was worth the drive" or the hassle. I worked with Shaun at Beaverton/Premier and got a really decent deal. I have a "Mitsubishi discount" they were honoring where no one else in town would but then I never followed through and bought the car. We were under $29K, and closer to $28K. I have 4 cars and a Motorcycle so still contemplating on EVO..
