runnin like sh*t in the am
So, I've been noticing my IX seems to run very poorly in the mornings when its cold outside and the engine is cold, once it warms up its fine. but this morning, it was really bad...if i keep the rpms up, it'll go, but don't want to be reving it when the engine is cold.
is this due to 10%ethanol in our gas now? Should I get retuned to make this stop?

Yeah.. .this is really pronounced if you have a different intake set up. The car runs really lean if you just start it and drive (you can see that if you have a wideband).

wake up 6 minutes earlier in the morning... that will give you 2 min. to get down to your car and start it... then go back inside...pour a cup of coffee...look at the funny page. that will give your car 4 min. to warm up...then drive to work.

ok, just to clarify, i never get on my car until the temp needle is in it's happy warm place...what I was saying is the car on some mornings will now only stop sputtering if I keep the revs up, which is new, and is a problem - thus my posting. So, if this hasn't been happening, and now it is happening, that strikes me as strange and not normal - normal being over the previous 13000 miles it not happening.
Ok, got the point about letting it warm up, but still - why the change all of a sudden? I guess that's my question.

Why don't you feed the shaft seals?
"<sigh> But the shaft seals are actually a series of interlocks and safety mechanisms that ensure the integrity surrounding the ships main propulsion shaft, and not nautical mammals; but I'll go feed em if you want."
Oh, the force is strong with this one.....

Okay I couldn't help but put that in there, and probably only the Navy guys will get it.
Anyway..... without knowing much more about the car I guess that's what everybody assumed. I know that once I put my AEM intake on, it ran really crummy when I first started it if I didn't let it warm up before. Also, maybe your spark plugs are due to be changed out. I know that when mine were due, it didn't run as well when it was cold. Factory recommends every 30k, but I change them every 15k and it seems to help them a bit.
Just a thought.
