Seattle: What tires are you replacing you stocks with?

Sounds like the OP is going to go up the mountains. Its quite different driving to the mountains than around some of the streets here in the NW (especially depending on where you frequent).
If you have enough $$ get dedicated tires for the condition. No sense cheaping out looking for an in between tire and then when you need grip don't have it.

I didn't really think about that.

Picked up a set of Douglas High Pro's from Walmart for $280 for the SET and they ROCK. Huge, deep treads, great in mud, snow, wet, gravel (obviously) and the street.
Price was so cheap because they are discontinued but for the money and performance, if you can find a set (or three) BUY THEM!!!
Most of you saw my video, it was shot on these tires.

Mine sits all winter long too...I know it's fun but it's the other idiots out there that don't have a clue...I rather try to avoid them as they are abundant in this area it seems.

my bad
I'd disagree. I drove everyday in the snow we had this year, which was quite a bit. Lots of ice, and lots of deep powder. My proxy 4s did just fine. I never once lost control of my car. That being said, I believe many all season tires do just fine on the evo w/ snow.
I see the word "Falkens" and think right away Azenis which will bite you in the *** big time on snow. What I'm trying to say here as are others is to get the most out of your evo you need 2 sets of tires 1 high performance and 1 snow if you see snow where you live.

my problem with the ast's is they're trash, they're a crap tire and they're cheap as hell. i would never run that tire on my evo, ever. I have 2 coworkers who run them and after 1 week of driving them they hated them. They had huge problems in the rain and snow and handling in the summer is garbage. I got to ride my first set of star specs and they're great. Maybe not so much in the winer though by the looks of the tread pattern. AD08's i still have yet to get my hands on a set. Nt05's are awesome in the summer and light track performance. Other than that i highly recommend a separate set for winter and summer. They make a huge difference

^^ I have heard good things about the g-forces. I ran the toyo proxy 4s and they were great for DD fun. Now I am running the Falken 512s and they give out way to easy, but for DD use, they're fine.

Once you drive on an RE01R, Z1, NT05, etc you will never want to drive on anything else...let me tell you. I can tell you this is what makes the car fun. All you guys driving on all seasons are pansies Man up and buy some NT05 or Z1's for ~$600 and really enjoy the car. I love the look when I have a corvette or bike following me in the twisties and they can't keep up...especially the looks on bikes
