Edison, the only thing that will change is when you disconnected the battery that will reset the fuel trims... it may run weird until the fuel trims get back in check, which shouldn't be more than a few minutes...

+1. But once the ER guys have adjusted the fueling correctly the settings in the base map shouldn't be too far off where they need to be anyway so he should be fine.
