need an oregon/washington shop to rebuild a 68 mustang 302

I need to find a shop in Oregon (preferred) or Washington who can re-build a buddy's mustang motor. Its a 68 running a 302. Motor is out of car, needs re-building (not blown, just the time to build it stonger).

Anyone know any good shops in the NW for a mustang engine rebuild?

thanks,
steve

One of the favorites in the Mustang community is Somer's Machine. They are in Vancouver, so it may be a bit of a hike, but Archie has a great reputation for both import and domestic. Many performance shops use him for machine work.

thanks man, really appreciate it. my buddy is looking to crate it and ship to a shop in San Diego .. I'm sure he wouldn't mind driving it to Vancouver.

Not a problem!

If I were in his shoes, I definitely wouldnt resort to shipping it to San Diego. Archie has built several high horsepower domestic motors around here. If he were to go to PIR and ask the Mustang guys on a race day, many/most would know who he was talking about.

He could head over to Stangnet and ask those guys who theyd recommend.

Isn't Archie the one that works out of his house and it's by referral only?

Archie has had a shop, but it could be referral. In that case say EnglishRacing referred you...Archie is a good guy and he can definitely get it done.

He does all our machine work, then we do assembly. He is very capable of doing it himself though dont get me wrong.

Then not the same person, just somebody else I've heard about. I'd trust whoever M-Spec refferred though.

Don't know personally, but I have heard alot of Mustang guys talk about Blue Oval Racing in Vancouver, which specializes in high HP Mustangs. Again, I offer no endorsement only to say that Mustang Guys seems to like them.

Best of luck,

Scott
